Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for preparing a variety of food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the restaurant’s menu. Responsible for preparing food accurately, efficiently and portion food products according to the standards of operation. Also perform other duties in the areas of food such as cleaning, supporting other team members
REPORTING TO: Shift Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for understanding and following the restaurant standards of operations by reviewing and studying the training manuals extensively.
Responsible for ensuring that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards, and ensure low levels of wastage and correct wastage reporting
Responsible for using restaurant Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products. Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employees.
Responsible for maintaining station stocks levels of food products to assure a smooth service period.
Follows proper presentation and garnish set up for all food products.
GENERAL DUTIES
Follows daily opening and closing procedures, prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the branch
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Shift Supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, all food equipment and refrigeration equipment. Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Thorough knowledge of Food operations. 1-2 years of experience.
Basic skill in math and algebraic equations using percentages
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees.
Work place is fast paced with considerable movement throughout shift. Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Basic Food Hygiene Training
Physically fit
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: AED1,500.00 - AED1,700.00 per month
